John Mabry holds a PhD in World Religions, and has taught The Gospel of Thomas for six years. An interfaith scholar, he does not proselytize, but simply offers The Gospel of Thomas as one of many valid spiritual paths. He currently teaches World Religions at the Chaplaincy Institute for Arts and Interfaith Ministry, and is also director of the Interfaith Spiritual Direction Certificate program at that school. He was the managing editor of Matthew Fox's Creation Spirituality magazine for five years, and also served as editor of Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction.
If you want to explore the earliest teachings ascribed to Jesus, read The Way of Thomas. Some of the sayings may resonate with you immediately; others may seem puzzling or confusing. John Mabry hands you a key that you can use to open up these teachings. He also clearly identifies themes repeatedly emphasized in the text. Open yourself to the wisdom of Jesus in Thomas and allow these to seep into your soul. John Beverley Butcher, author of The Tao of Jesus
