Lucy Bushill-Matthews has been a Muslim for 16 years and is now married with 3 children under the age of 10. She has run a Muslim madrasah for many years, spoken about Islam with children at primary and secondary schools and those visiting the local mosque, and trained teachers, police and other groups of adults about understanding Islam and Muslims. For the last two years, Lucy has written a monthly light-hearted column about being a Muslim mum in the British Muslim magazine Emel.
