About the Author

Tricia Drake (Tricky to her friends) learned to knit in her teens from her grandmother, but dropped the hobby after a failed attempt at her first sweater. She picked up knitting again five years ago with every intention of knitting each of her children beautiful little matching hats and mittens, but instead became obsessed with fibre and got sidetracked knitting unusual scarves for herself and a few friends. As orders for her unique designs began to increase, Tricia started her line of accessories, TrickyKnits, in 2008. Shortly afterward, a customer who also happened to be a photographer, requested that she create a custom handknit piece that could be used for photographing a newborn. From that first Eskimo Kiss Hooded Cocoon and Peek-a-Boo Pod came Tricia s signature pieces for newborns and toddlers, knit with bulky yarns on unexpectedly big needles and accented with chunky handspuns, which are collected by photographers and parents alike. She is happily married to Tim Moses, a patient soul who never complains about the yarn that has taken over their house. They live in Nashville with their seven young children.
