About the Author

MARCIA SOUTHWICK's first book of poems, The Night Won't Save Anyone, was published in 1980. She has been a visiting lecturer for the University of Iowa, the University of Colorado in Boulder, and the Warren Wilson M.F.A. Program. Currently she teaches at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she is a senior poetry reader for Prairie Schooner. Her poems have appeared in many journals, including Antaeus, Field, Ploughshares, Poetry, Prairie Schooner, The Antioch Review, The Georgia Review, The Iowa Review, The Ohio Review, The North American Review, and The American Poetry Review. A recipient of a Stanley B. Young Fellowship at Bread Loaf, and a National Endowment for the Arts Grant. Southwick also has published in the Pushcart Anthology and The Morrow Anthology Of Younger American Poets.
