A dog intuitively reads a human's behavioural style and adjusts accordingly in order to communicate. This insight can reframe how we see our present and future lives, relationships, jobs or careers. Between our ears we have a trainer and a dog that needs training. This book takes you from the hayfields of eastern Kansas to Canada, where Dr. Jernigan began as a veterinarian and became a personal coach. "Because of your pets, I learned things about you and me," says Dr. J. You learn to apply your pet's key to success in all things to your own life. You will: - Learn to find your Own Way in life using the Joss Principle - Find your own Sunny Spots, Hannah style - Discover how to manage Recycled Relationships - Find out if you are Herding in All the Right Places - See why the Post Person is so interesting to your pet and how it affects your life - Discover your own Terrier Bliss - Learn who the Mice, Rats, Moles and Voles are in your life It's a fun journey about you and your pet! Let this act as a guide to a more fulfilled, happier and healthier life because of the love of our pets and our emotional bond with them.
About the Author
"Doug Jernigan, D.V.M, a second-generation "James Herriot" style of veterinarian, grew up in the Flint Hills of eastern Kansas caring about animals. He received his D.V.M degree from Kansas State University. After 2 years in the USAF, he practiced small animal medicine and surgery for 35 years in Topeka, Kansas. Life was a task for him until he began to practice small animal medicine and surgery. Pets and their people changed him. Then, in one seminar, there was a collision between decades of working in animal behavior and the hundreds of thousands of interactions with clients. His stress with people disappeared. Dr. J understood why we tend to behave the way we do. Using "Your Brain is a Border Collie" Dr. J coaches people to create relationships that last. Dr. J holds coaching and keynote seminars, face to face or online, that blend the newest published brain science and pet analogies with the statistically validated system of human behavior called DISC. He is married to Sondra Jernigan, Ph.D and has 4 adult children with 2 grandsons. He now lives in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. This book is about his journey with pets and people. Your journey in life is up to you."
