Jonathan Harlen was born in New Zealand but now lives in coastal New South Wales, near Byron Bay, with his wife and three young children. He runs a small farm, where he grows coffee beans and cabinet timbers. He has published many books in various genres and for various age groups. They include the much-acclaimed young adult novel, The Lion and the Lamb, Fireflies (also for young adults), The Cockroach War, Brain Scam, Circus Berzerkus and Drop Dead, Mad Dog Fred (for younger readers).
