This item is a brand new retail packaged, detailed and well crafted pendant created from the finest high-quality Nickel-free pewter. It comes ready to wear on an adjustable cord (approx 14" to 30" long) although it would look fine on your own favourite chain. The pendant is 51mm/about 2" high including loop and 25mm/1" wide. The double bladed axe gained great prominence & popularity among the Vikings. This style of axe was later adopted and used by the Saxons - excellent for chopping off heads! The Celts decorated their weapons with elaborate scrollwork and this fine pendant has the Celtic Triskele on each blade with a cross in the centre. The Triskele has been described as "The strands wind and cross over one another, weaving in together the worlds of dawn and dusk, mist and fog, faerie and human, life and death. The overall pattern is that of the eternal quest the pilgrimage of the soul." Note that the blades are not sharp and we don't condone head-chopping! This is a lovely symbolic and detailed item of jewellery. You'll love it if it's a treat for yourself - or it would make the ideal present
