In this special collection of six documentaries, celebrated art critic and presenter Waldemar Januszczak takes us on an epic journey through the history of art, exploring some of the world's most important works and the artists behind them.

BAROQUE: This spectacular three-part series explores the baroque tradition in manly of its key locations. Starting in Italy and following the spread of the wildfire across Europe and beyond, art critic Waldemar Januszczak takes us on a tour of the finest examples of baroque art to be found.

THE MICHAELANGELO CODE: Michelangelo's greatest masterpiece, the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, conceals a meaning which has remained hidden for 500 years. After studying the masterpiece for over 20 years, Waldemar Januszczak finally cracks the pictorial code that conceals its startling meaning.

PARADISE FOUND: This feature-length documentary examines Islam's rich and significant contribution to western art and culture. Waldemar Januszczak sets out to reveal a world of awe-inspiring architecture and spectacular Islamic treasures, as well as a host of artists and craftsmen.

VINCENT: THE FULL STORY: In this ambitious three-part series Waldemar Januszczak concentrates not only on Van Gogh's infamous months of madness when he painted his best-known pictures, but on previously unknown stories of his early years as a schoolteacher, linguist, religious fanatic and sexual obsessive.

THE IMPRESSIONISTS: In this landmark four-part series Waldemar explores the revolutionary achievements of the impressionist school of art through the stories of some of its most famous painters: Monet, Degas and Van Gogh, as well as less-known impressionists such as Caillebotte, Cassatt and Bracquemond.

MANET: As the reluctant father of impressionism, Manet can probably be accused of inventing modern art. Born rebel, in both art and life, his story is fascinating on so many levels. Waldemar Januszczak tells the story of the complex and difficult man who started a revolution that continues to rumble on today.
