Brokeback Mountain is a sweeping epic that explores the lives of two young men, a ranch hand and a rodeo cowboy, who meet in the summer of 1963 and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection. The complications, joys and heartbreak they experience provide a testament to the endurance and power of love. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal deliver emotionally charged, remarkably moving performances in "a movie that is destined to become one of the great classics of our time" (Clay Smith, The Insider).

Is a very emotional moving experience of a Love for someone of the same sex and trying to deal with their current relationships at the same time. It also depicts the hatred for gay men in particular as towards the end of the film one of the two men is brutally killed leaving the other in deep mourning for him.
A extremely touching story line that brings tears and emotion to those watching.

I loved this movie it was really good. Based on the short story by Annie Proulx it tells the story of two young men Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) who meet in the summer of 1963 hearding sheep in the Wyoming countryside and much to their surprise fall in love. While they both go on and marry and have children (as was expected of you at the time) they continue to meet up for "fishing trips" for the next 20 years.

Well cast and well directed by Mr Ang Lee (director of The Ice Storm) this is one little pearl not to be missed.

This is the story of a couple of staunch country boys who meet and fall in love in the summer of 1963. Although one of them suggests that they live together the other is afraid of this possibilty, having seen what happens to a gay man if he is discovered. So in the end all they have as Jack puts it "is Brokeback Mountain."

It's a beautiful film with a fantastic cast. Highly recommend it.

I thought this was a great movie - I watched it with my husband and he found it difficult to watch at first but eventually once he started ignoring his homophobia he found it a very insightful movie. For myself I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the acting was fantastic

I have to admit, I was hesitant about this one. I mean, gay cowboys? Not usually my thing...At the persistent wheedling of a friend, however, I agreed to at least sit through the first half hour...and that was it. Ironically, I enjoyed it more than she did in the end. I'm a sucker for romance, I guess!

Sensitively directed, wonderfully acted and an all-round great movie, the only thing it lacks is a slightly more active storyline. Slow and deceptively simple, this is definitely not a feel-good film but whether you like it or not it's one of those stories that will open your eyes and really make you think. The ending is somewhat abrupt - without giving away the plot, however, I have to say that this is a great choice on the director's part, as it really underscores the emotion of the piece.

Not an easy watch, but well worth it.

this movie was so hyped up that it really had a lot to live up to. it got quite a bit of critical acclaim, which also added to its hype. for me, this movie was pretty good, but i wouldnt really want to watch it over and over again. this is a pretty emotional tale, and both men acted it with dignity. a must watch.

It's great how society has opened up suffient enough to allow a movie about homosexualality to win an Oscar. The story was moving, the actors gave amazing performances and you should watch it for it is no doubt a landmark in cinema history, if for no other reason.

Two of the hottest men in hollywood in one picture, girls should be melting in their seats instead they are not, why I hear you ask because the two cowboys are in love, with each other. This was an unusual but enjoyable story of forbidden love in arustic setting with endearing characters and enduring messages. Worth a watch for the sheer controversy it caused at its release , but worthy of praise because of the quality acting, cinematography and screenwriting which make it an enjoyable film.

This is a very good movie, and although perhaps not as amazing as it made out to be it is still a good watch that is different from the other movies out there. This is one of those movies in which it seems that not a lot happens but we learn a lot about the characters and their personalities and relationships and in the end you realise that a lot of things actually have happened. A insightful look at the minds and love of two men. Highly recommended
