Ferris Bueller. Larger than life. Blessed with a magical sense of serendipity. He's a model for all those who take themselves too seriously. A guy who knows the value of a day off.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off chronicles the events in the day of a rather magical young man, Ferris (Matthew Broderick). One spring day, toward the end of his senior year, Ferris gives in to an overwhelming urge to cut school and head for downtown Chicago with his girl (Mia Sara) and his best friend (Alan Ruck), to see the sights, experience a day of freedom and show that with a little ingenuity, a bit of courage and a red Ferrari, life at 17 can be a joy!

Synopsis

Ferris is a street-wise kid who knows all the tricks. Today he decides to take the day off school. When Ferris takes the day off, so must his best friends, Cameron and Sloane. Cameron is reluctantly persuaded to borrow his father's Ferrari (which is never used). And together they hatch a plan to get Sloane out of class. Suspicious principal Ed Rooney knows all about Ferris, but can never catch him. Ferris' sister Jeanie is also frustrated that Ferris always gets away with his tricks and she doesn't. Furthermore, Ferris is an 'angel' in his parents eyes. It's Ferris' day off, he's out to enjoy himself, and he does!.

This is without doubt one of my most watched films of all time, and those who have not yet seen it will probably wind up re-watching ten to twenty times. Matthew Broderick stars as Ferris Bueller, a high schooler who is an expert at faking sickies, and on this day, decides to make it the best ever, dragging his neurotic friend Cameron and girl friend Sloane along for the ride. The highlight of the film is Cameron, an immensely charming dweeb who just can't say no to Ferris. 'When Cameron was in Egypt land... let my, Cameron, go.'

Ferris Bueller has played hooky numbers of times, and this time he's got the entire school and more believing he is on the verge of death. On this special day off, Ferris invites his friend Cameron Fry and girlfriend Sloane Peterson to his day of fun, while taking Cameron's father's precious Ferrari for transportation. All the while, the principal Ed Rooney is determined to prove Ferris is faking his illness and Ferris's agitated sister Jeanie also has a goal to catch Ferris off guard. Ferris enjoys his day with his friends, until the mileage of the Ferrari reads one too many miles driven and Cameron has a blow out.

Ferris Buellers Day Off.
A classic teen comedy from the 80's. As good now as it was back when it was released.
Get yourself some friends who remember the 80's, put on your Save Ferris shirt pop some pop corn and relive this classic.
I did and I loved it.

One of the most popular comedies of the 1980s... directed by John (Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club) Hughes, the master of teen angst... Mathew Broderick is great as Ferris... he often addresses the audience directly, to startling effect!... Jeffrey Jones is also awesome as the beleaguered Edward R. Rooney, the Dean of Students who's trying to catch Ferris out... highly reccomended...

this is a pretty cute comedy about a young matthew broderick, and what happens on his day off from school! it is crazy to see him so young, but also pretty cute to see what he and his friends get up to. it cant really stand up to some of the comedies around now, but it is still good for a laugh or two!
