The Hockney Collection - Art and Life of David Hockney [Region 2]

Trible bill of documentaries about renowned visual artist David Hockney and his work. In 'The Pleasures of the Eye' Hockney talks about his philosophy towards art and life and guides the viewer through a number of his paintings. In 'Hockney at the Tate' Melvyn Bragg joins Hockney during his 1988 Tate Gallery retrospective for an exclusive private view of the exhibition as they discuss pictures from all stages of the artist's remarkable career. 'Joiner Photographs' shows Hockney demonstrating the technique he adopted in the early 1980s, when he abandoned conventional painting to experiment with photographic collages. The film also analyses the role of photography in his work since the 1960s.
