A lovely movie about a girl skating to her dream, even though she didn't realise what she was dreaming for. Some beautiful shots of skating routines. Perhaps not totally accurate in detail, but enjoyable all the same. Interesting to see Kim Cattrall playing the stage mom with such aplomb! Joan Cusack plays the nerdy professor mom well too.

I loved watching this movie. It is a movie a could watch over and over again. This is a movie about a girl who is a 'Science geek'. She has always liked iceskating since she was little and when she enrols herdelf in an iceskating class she gets moved up levels very quickly. She quickly becomes a great iceskater and competes in lots of competitions.
This movie is just amazing and her iceskating is wonderful.
Her costumes are just so beautiful.
I would recommend this movie for older children and teens.

I love this movie. So does my sister! Set in America it is the story of a girl about to go to Harvard, who in order to get a scholarship takes up ice skating to see if her physics study really works. She discovers that she actually has talent, and through a whole pile of the usual movie ups and downs, finds herself skating among the best in the state. Recommendd

this is a good buy/ watch for all those who enjoy a decent chick flick. my mum really loved this, as she is head over heels for anything with a feel good vibe to it. michelle trachenberg and hayden pattienere play teen girls really well, and the woman from sex and the city plays a bitchy mum well too. all in all a good drama for women.

The movie is wonderful, and the soundtrack has a number of great songs that I really like. According to Amazon's product description of this book, it includes vocal, piano, and guitar sheet music for 11 of the 13 songs on the Ice Princess soundtrack. If you like any (or all) of the songs on the Ice Princess soundtrack and play piano (like me) or guitar, I think you'd really like this book. I expect it to be wonderful, and I really hope it lives up to that expectation if I (or you) ever get this book.

(The 13 songs on the Ice Princess soundtrack are "No One" - Aly & AJ; "Reach" - Caleigh Peters; "Reachin' For Heaven" - Diane DeGarmo; "If I Had it My Way" - Emma Roberts; "I Fly" - Hayden Panettiere; "Get Your Shine On" - Jesse McCartney; "Just a Dream" - Jump5; "It's Oh So Quiet" - Lucy Woodward; "You Set Me Free" - Michelle Branch; "Unwritten" - Natasha Bedingfield; "Bump" - Raven-Symone; "Get Up" - Superchic; and "There is No Alternative" - Tina Sugandh. Samples of these songs can be heard on Amazon's Ice Princess soundtrack page or iTunes.)

This movie was typical Disney; a sweet feel-good story despite some mediocre acting and plot holes. Michelle Trachtenberg is a very likable heroine, and both Joan Cusack and Kim Cattrall perform admirably in their respective roles. Granted, the "child breaks away from parent's desires to follow her own dream" story has been done many times, and this version is nothing special, but it's good for us well-intentioned mothers to be reminded every so often to let our children find their own paths in life.

My only big gripe is with what is presented as Casey's incredible physics discoveries. Some of the statements are downright wrong (pulling in your arms while spinning DECREASES, not increases, your moment of inertia), and all the equations shown in the movie are nothing but basic laws of Newtonian mechanics. While the target pre-teen audience will be fooled, anyone older who's ever taken a physics class will not. Come on, Hollywood...with all the recent publicity about whether women are suited for math and science, please don't insult our intelligence by assuming that scientific details are unimportant in a movie marketed to young girls.

ice princess starring michelle trachenberg hayden panettiere and kim catrall it is about a girl who does an experiment about figure skating only to find that she has a talent for it herself. in an attempt to go for her dreams she enters the national competition and takes fourth place. the third place competitor drops out leaving her to go for first place at the regionals. suitable for the younger teens to young adults this movie was very sweet with a bit of comedy and a fantastic soundtrack

i actually quite liked this movie, i didn't expect to like as i don't usually go for the raomantic comedy teen movies, but i thought this one was pretty reasonable! watch this if you love the genre, you will proably love this one. its got a good storyline and the acting is pretty descent too. overall, pretty good.

this was a pretty good movie, definitly a chick flick/ semi rom com. one to watch with friends/ female relatives who are likely to lap this up. this movie had some plot holes which i found disturbing, and lacked in a certain charm to make this movie real memorable. john cusacks sister plays the mum

I love this movie. I guess it's because she takes an intellegent look at how to improve in certain aspects of life. Her costume at the end of the movie is amazing and the ice skating just looks beautiful. Great family movie to watch. Definately one that I would watch again.
