Inkheart is a timeless adventure tale of imagination that centres on Meggie, a young girl whose father has a secret ability to bring characters from books alive when he reads them aloud. But when a power-hungry villain from a rare children's fable kidnaps Meggie's father to bring others out of the boundaries of fiction, she and a disparate group of friends both real and magic embark on the kind of adventure she has only read about in books to save him and set things right.

Entertaining viewing. A family film but made for young viewers .
An intriguing tale full of adventure with sympathetic acting and a fine
role by Helen Mirren. A satisying ending,

Inkheart. I adored these books, they are so beautiful and the idea that people can read things out of a book is a wonderful one. Brendan Fraser made a cool Mo, but a lot of the character things that made the book attractive had to go; visual medium versus print, I suppose. Helen Mirren almost stole the show. Paul Bettany is a great Dustfinger although his character seems different to the book. Andy Serkis does evil well. But it just seemed to miss somewhere and I’m not sure where. The pacing maybe? The ending was so different from the books; it was is if they had decided not to make the other movies and tacked on an ending that made further movies impossible.

this is a great family, adventure movie. it has action, humour and fantasy and it has good vs. evil. brendan fraser plays a man who when he reads aloud from a book some of the characters come alive. story characters such as toto, the dog from wizard of oz comes alive. this movie is also based on the book of the same name.
