AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY: Following the disappearance of their father Beverly, the Weston clan descends upon the Midwestern family home to help find him. This will not be an easy family reunion--and not just because of Beverly's mysterious vanishing. His estranged daughters have been living divergent lives and are returning to more than the isolated home they grew up in: they are back to face the iron-fisted matriarch (Meryl Streep) who raised them.
HOPE SPRINGS: Kay (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a renowned couple's specialist (Steve Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her sceptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough--the real challenge for both of them comes as they shed their bedroom hang-ups and try to re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place.
PRIME: Uma Thurman stars as Rafi, a 37-year-old photography producer reeling from a recent divorce, who meets David (Bryan Greenberg), a 23-year-old painter recently out of college, Prime explores what happens when love at first sight meets the day-to-day realities of an adult relationship. Meryl Streep portrays Rafi's therapist, Dr Lisa Metzger. Lisa, who is working to help Rafi overcome her fears of intimacy, finds out that Rafi's new lover is unfortunately for Lisa her only son, David.
David and Rafi must contend with a 14-year age gap, vastly different backgrounds and the demands of David's traditional mother. A frank look at a modern, urban romance, this film candidly and humorously explores the joy of falling head over heels for someone and the struggles that inevitably follow.
RENDITION: When an Egyptian terrorism suspect "disappears" on a flight from Africa to Washington DC, his American wife and a CIA analyst find themselves caught up in a struggle to secure his release from a secret detention facility somewhere outside the US.
