At thirty-seven, Miri is a twice-widowed El Al senior flight attendant. Her well-regulated but lonely existence is suddenly turned upside down by an abandoned Chinese boy whose migrant-worker mother has been summarily deported from Israel. In attempting to return the non-Hebrew speaking child to his mother, and calling upon the help of family and friends, Miri embarks on a remarkable journey full of drama and humour that brings much-needed meaning to her life.
A touching comic-drama, Miri is forced to take stock of her life. Her ever-present sister Gila (an award winning performance by Anat Waxman), who has left her husband and is living with Miri, is also going on a similar journey of self-discovery, but in a very different direction. As the two women fight and bicker, so they move towards a greater humility and understanding, both of themselves and the world around them.
