Four Perfect Killers. One Perfect Crime.
Critically acclaimed for its raw power and breathtaking ferocity, it’s the brilliant American gangster movie classic from writer-director Quentin Tarantino. They were perfect strangers, assembled to pull off the perfect crime. Their simple robbery explodes into a bloody ambush, and the ruthless killers realise one of them is the police informer. But which one?

Four perfect killers. One perfect crime. Now all they have to fear is each other. Former video store clerk Quentin Tarantinos directorial debut, RESERVOIR DOGS, is a brutally funny, supercharged introduction to his supremely distinct cinematic vision, which was later to become one of the most mimicked styles of the 1990s. Mastermind Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tierney) assembles a crew of top-notch criminals to pull off a jewellery store heist. As the film opens it becomes immediately clear that the plan backfired, forcing the survivors, who have gathered at an abandoned warehouse, to figure out if one of them is, in fact, a police informer. The crew--Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), an aged veteran; Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), a wounded newcomer; Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), a psychopathic parolee; Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), a bickering weasel; and Nice Guy Eddie (Chris Penn), Joes son--begin to unravel as the pressure becomes too much for them to handle. When Joe arrives, the truth becomes clear in a vicious Mexican standoff.

A gang of thieves carry out an armed robbery on a Diamond warehouse. The police are after them so quickly that they suspect they have a rat in their company. This film starts right after the robbery, with flashbacks to before the robbery, and to the planning of the crime. We are also introduced to the main characters in flashback mode. Plenty of fast action, and plenty of blood and gore.

Absolutely psycho. There are lines galore in this movie which is what make it so cool. The violence is gratuitous in the usual Tarantino fashion but he keeps the plot moving along at a good pace always making sure to supplement the viewer with cool, witty remarks. Not as good as Pulp Fiction in my opinion but still a classic.

well it has to be said that quentin tarantino stole most of his ideas from earlier films this one seems to be made up of stanley kubricks the killing and also the asphalt jungle which is also another great film. even though this movie is derived from some very early films it still is made fresh buy its use of mundane language and its stylistic flair, a modern classic and one to grab and watch the very good special features on here.

The film that made Quentin Tarantino's name is a very good - ultra-violent and bloody - film that explores the relationships between men and the bonds of loyalty that tie them together - Steve Buscemi is annoying & brilliant as usual; Michael Madsen plays a psycho in a cold and emotion-less way (one was more used to 'over-the-top' excess then), and Harvey Keitel is class... not everybody's cup of tea, but very, very good...

Quentin Tarantino's debut is an astounding cinematic achievement catapulting him into the highest echelon of movie directors.
Showcasing a terrific ensemble of actors with the likes of Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Steve Buscemi, Michael Madsen, Christopher Penn and Quentin Tarantino himself.
The plotline centers around a gang of thieves who carry out an armed robbery on a diamond warehouse. The film starts right after the robbery has taken place with a series of flashbacks to the events before the robbery and to the actual planning of the crime. What should have been the perfect crime goes wrong when one of the robbers turns rat and mayhem, fast action, blood and gore ensue.
An explosive piece of film making which turned Hollywood on it's ear when it came out on movie screens in 1992. Brilliant!

See Tarantinos Directorial debut in the Superbly Crafted Low Budget Reservoir Dogs. In His Distinct style, this is where the World of Tarantino Began. From the establishment of the Vega Brothers to his distinct use of Music to juxtapose scenes to his so called 'stealing' of scenes from other movies. Its all here, and its all for the good of the film industry, as this Fantastic beginning would lead him on to make Pulp Fiction.

This DVD Set is Jam packed with not only tonnes of information about Dogs itself, but also about the Man from the Video Store, Quentin Tarantino

Ostensibly the plot is the perenial heist gone horribly wrong, with the surviving criminals regrouping in a warehouse to figure out what happened, argue and bleed. But this is Tarantino's directorial debut and it displays his impressive grasp of cinema with the playful stucture, integrated flashbacks, brilliant dialogue, powerhouse acting and liberal doses of violence.
