The X-Men, mutant heroes sworn to defend a world that hates and fears them, must face evolution itself in the shape of their former teammate, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen). Possessed with the cosmic power of the Dark Phoenix, the resurrected Jean Grey has become a danger to herself, her mutant comrades and the entire planet. To stave off this imminent threat to humanity, a potential cure is discovered and processed to treat and ultimately eliminate genetic mutations once and for all.

As the battle lines are drawn, the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), are aided by new recruits like The Beast (Kelsey Grammer) and Angel (Ben Foster). Together, they must contend with Greys new powers, as well as the malevolent Brotherhood a band of powerful mutants organised under Xaviers former all, Magneto (Ian McKellen).

Best movie ever. Though the ending was a bit of a cop out, and heartbreaking for Wolverine. In the comics Dark Phoenix just came back to life after... The Phoenix was a COSMIC threat, this movie didn't portray the Phoenix as well as it could've. Then again this is no comic but possibly the best movie i've seen. The plot had many layers. It was great they used Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-men plot in Gifted for the cure for mutants. It sure plays a big part for Rogue unable to touch to consider it. Speaking of mutants it was EPIC how many they featured in this movie. The "last stand" is one of the most adrenaline filled battles in comic book movies. The X-men were outnumbered but their heart and resilience is what gives it such strength, despite the odds. Wolverine played a big role here and did well to help lead the team. A big highlight in the movie was definitely Wolverine's speech to the team before the battle: "We lost the professor, we lost scott. but if we don't fight now everything they stood for dies with them. I'm not going to let that happen. Are you?"
