Performer Notes
  • This 1998 reissue includes 1 bonus track.
  • Even if the Amboy Dukes had not been the band that first brought wildman guitarist Ted Nugent to national attention, the title track of this album would still be remembered as one of the all-time classic psychedelic singles. Featuring hallucinogenic lyrics matched to aggressive proto-punk-ish acid rock, the recording is not only the perfect distillation of a bad LSD trip but features the prescient line "Please understand, you might not come back." Luckily, the rest of the LP is far from filler and, despite hippie-dippie titles like "Why is a Carrot More Orange Than an Orange," is filled with sharp songwriting and heavy rock & roll that at its best sounds like Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd jamming with the MC5.
