While the band specializes in a rootsy take on spry Meters-esque funk, Lindell--a born bandleader--pushes them through rhythm & blues, soul, and blue-collar rock workouts with a charm that pits the combo as New Orleans's answer to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in their '70s heyday.
