  • Six years after the release of their film/album The Pick of Destiny, Kyle Gass and Jack Black return as Tenacious D to unleash upon the world their third album, Rize of the Fenix. Not going it alone, the acoustic metal dynamos will once again call upon the beastly drumming of Dave Grohl, who also played the drums on the band's self-titled 2001 effort. Gass' Trainwreck collaborators John Konesky and John Spiker are also stepping in to bolster the D's ranks, filling out the rhythm section to help the duo bring an explosive, electric edge to their acoustic sound.

Professional Reviews
Alternative Press (p.82) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "FENIX is loaded with classic-rock-aping material which simultaneously admires and lampoons everything from STAR WARS to organized religion. Black's vocals are appropriately theatrical..."

Kerrang (Magazine) (p.52) - "And so, just like that, Tenacious D are back. They're funny, they're absurd and they're hotter than a phoenix."
