Performer Notes
  • Contains 28 hidden tracks following "Episode 29".
  • Mushroomhead: Jeffrey Nothing, J Mann (vocals); Bronson, Gravy (guitar); Shmotz (keyboards); Pig Benis (bass); Skinny (drums); Stitch (samples).
  • Additional personnel: Scot Edgell (vocals).
  • These wacky Cleveland nu-metal-heads have been wowing Midwest audiences since the early '90s with their masked-men-of-mystery schtick, but XX proves that they're no mere posers. With an intriguing mix of hip-hop, metal, the requisite cookie monster vocals, and most importantly some actual songs (witness "Never Let it Go"), Mushroomhead are set to fill the yawning metal gap currently sparsely inhabited by bands such as Tool.
  • "Chancre Sore" is blistering metal/hip-hop, while "Before I Die" is festering, synth-laden heavy rock, "Xeroxed" is a full throttle assault on the senses, and "Episode 29" consists mainly of a lot of Gothic-style screaming. In short, if this forceful major-label debut is anything to go on, Mushroomhead may be the answer to a metal-starved music fan's prayers. If they manage to keep the masks on, they could, in theory, continue for decades, with a revolving door of personnel--a kind of metal Menudo.

Another Great metal band, rock, rap, metal, thrash, electro, Industrial, all words that describe the genera of their own, similar sounds to slipknot and Marylin Manson, but still their own. There are several hidden tracks, most of which are 0.04min worth of silence building up to a remix of bwomp. A must for any Mushroomhead fan. Mushroomhead has a few albums out now all very good. I can listen to this album start to finish and never get bored of it.

To put it simply, XX is Mushroomhead at their best. Filled with hit after hit, this CD is very easy to leave on loop till you wear the CD blank. Very different to Slipknot despite having the same look and rapcore sound, XX is the perfect album for fans of both bands. Similar to XIII in sound means that fans of XIII will love this one too.

I herd one of these guys’ songs from their other album XIII, “Sun Doesn’t Rise” and I thought that was pretty good, then I bought this album with an open mind and I wasn’t disappointed! Great songs to listen to include: Before I Die, Bwomp and of cause who could forget Solitaire Unraveling great Keyboard layered throughout this song, a great buy for all metal fans!

now these guys are unique, they have face paint and masks but i prefer the ones used by slipknot, mushroom head has a brutal rap metal sound and is really quite a good band to check out if your into the heavier side of metal (heavier side but not cannible corpse crap)
