BRASS TELESCOPE, PIRATE TELESCOPE WITH SPY GLASS & LEATHER CASE. This is Solid brass 3 draw leather sheathed field telescope in antique finish. It was also called the 'Tourist' and is based on the old War Office Signalling model. With a large objective lens of 33 mm visible diameter, giving a magnification of 20 x it is ideal for stalking or spotting, and produces a sharp, clear image. Telescope also disassembles easily for access to the internal lenses, enabling them to be cleaned in the field. This telescope features orange brown leather sheathed hand stitched covering tapered barrel , including the protective end caps, which are attached to the shoulder carry strap. It is engraved " J. Scott London 1753 " on the first draw. It measures 7.5" closed, 20" open with sunshade extended, a quality telescope weighing approx- 575 gm, and a pleasure to use.
