The Phoenixes of Ulthuan dwell amongst the Flamespyres - great alabaster pillars of rock that burn with magical flame. Over generations, they have become attuned to fire magic, harnessing it at whim. As a Flamespyre Phoenix ages, its body cools and even begins to sap heat from its surroundings. Finally the plumage that once blazed with fire grows heavy with frost and ice as it becomes a Frostheart Phoenix.
The Flamespyre Phoenix, which can be used to make a Frostheart Phoenix, is a multi-part plastic model that would form a remarkable centrepiece to a collection of miniatures. Its large feathered wings are extended out wide with up-curled tips, as if swooping across Ulthuan. Like its tail and body, the wings display a crackling, magical trail of flames. On the Frostheart Phoenix, however, there is instead a trail of frost- and ice-effects for the wings, which can be neatly slotted onto the kit, as well as a choice of heads. Riding the Flamespyre Phoenix is an Anointed of Asuryan, which can also be used on foot, while the Frostheart Phoenix can be ridden by a Caradryan, who can also be made from this kit. Both of these single figures are sumptuously detailed, with fine armour, robes, helmets and carrying ornate weapons. The Phoenixes come on elongated flying stands, which slot into a sculpted base that features large blocks of ruined architecture.
This multi-part plastic kit contains 44 components with which to make either a Flamespyre Phoenix or a Frostheart Phoenix.
This kit comes supplied unpainted and requires assembly - they recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints.
