The set is a blue plastic box on the outside that's made of good, thick plastic that would be difficult to damage too easily. Open up the lid, and it folds out into a little scene for playing on. The base is magnetic so most of the pieces will stick to it. This is especially important given how tiny some of the pieces are! Included are two Playmobile people and accessories (not magnetic) that are the size of Playmobil standard children. Then they have a little tiny island with a pond and two trees that will stick magnetically to the play scene board, a Noah's Ark with removable ramp and several pairs of tiny magnetic animals. The animals are impossibly detailed for such tiny things! The zebras all have their stripes done to a high standard and the elephant's tails are all in good proportion. The detail here will fascinate any small child. The animals are shown fitting into the Playmobil children's hands on the box, but in reality actually only a few of them fit properly. This doesn't detract from the play quality of the set though, the grandson doesn't have the patience to bother trying to clip them in most of the time anyway. He just uses his fingers to hold the animals next to the Playmobil people's hands to make them play.
