About the Author

Ted Shackley's final CIA position was as associate deputy director for operations. He died in December 2002, weeks after completing this book. A twenty-six-year veteran of the CIA's Clandestine Service, his co-author Richard A. Finney is now a freelance journalist living in Springfield, Virginia.
