About the Author

Dr. Sasha Herbert, chief veterinarian at the Lort Smith Animal Hospital, has spent her career pursuing adventure and knowledge through her fascination with animals. She has since taken her work and study to zoos, wildlife parks, and domestic animal practices from Australia, to Southeast Asia, North and South America, and Europe. Throughout these travels, a passion grew for ensuring that all creatures were well fed and nurtured. She has bottle-fed rhinoceros and elephant calves, enticed sick gibbons to eat again, and convinced suspicious tigers to take their medicine in their food. Her recipes are peppered with stories of these adventures.
