true blood is a great new tv series starring anna paquin (x-men, the piano) and steven moyer. the first season is based on charlaine harris' novel dead until dark, and is about a telepathic barmaid named sookie stackhouse and her adventures when she meets a vampire called bill. definitely a must have for fans of the show and southern vampire book series! the show and books are also waaay better than twilight, so if you were also put off the vampire genre because of twilight, give true blood a chance to redeem vamp-lit for ya =)

Treu Blood is a GREAT series but has alot of very explicit sex scenes which will find you blushing and trying to hit fast forward on the remote well it did me but minus that a great series that stays pretty close to the book give or take a few characters.. well worth watching .......... thumbs up

Having never read the books by Charlaine Harris,(plan to do so soon)I can only say that i am a now a avid fan of True blood..up until now i have sated myself on Buffy and Angel(still love the Buffster)...True blood is definately for Adults and about bloody time!!! Dangerously dark,sexy ,humerous and all in all very entertaining..The characters are like a box of choclates~ you never know what your gonna get!!! I can't wait to buy the second series!

Sex, blood, vampires, goregous men, shapeshifters, voodoo, alcohol, drugs, morality lessons -- what more could possibly be fit into this fantastic series? Easy! Telepaths, vikings, miscellaneous mythical beings, murder mysteries. This is an AWESOME tv series, the books are also pretty damn cool & seeing Charlaine Harris' characters come to life at the hands of Anna Paquain, Ryan Kwanten, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell is just fantastic! I cannot wait to get my hands on the 2nd season. Everyone (over the age of 18) should totally check this out!

Great series, very HBO - no holds barred on the sex and language. Sticks fairly close to the books, a couple of characters changed, but all up not too different. Quite dark, a vampire tale for grown up's!
p.s. Bill is WAY cute

Intelligent, humorous viewing for those who want something well and truely out of the ordinary box. HBO does it again with bells on. A dark, sexy, clever tale that continually surprises and provides very satisfying viewing. Created, executive-produced and written by Alan Ball (Six Feet Under series, American Beauty), True Blood is well-paced, tightly written, with a cast set of unique characters played beautifully by those who people the interwoven storylines. A telepathic waitress (Anna Paquin 'The Piano'), vampires (notably Stephen Moyer 'Quills'), deep south America, an unusual assortment of characters and plots twists. A joy to watch...and rewatch! It's great television.

Based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels written by Charlaine Harris, True Blood remains true to the well-fleshed characters and general storyline. Any plot departures neatly complement Harris's existing story weaving in expanded characters and new and re-interpreted elements which only add to the story. Those who have enjoyed the novels won't be disappointed. Excellent stuff - thank you, HBO!

I LOVE this series but it doesn't do the books (which I feel are way better) justice! But I still enjoyed the tv series. It does stray from the story line... but in a good way. At times it felt like a different story but one I was intrigued with anyway.

Wow, this series is great. I had absolutely no expectations with this series but it well and truly delivers. Watched the whole series in one day & then subscribed to Foxtel so I could watch the second series. Will definitely be purchasing the box set from Fishpond.com.au as soon as it's released!

I missed watching this series on TV delivery was quick and I am now hooked!!
What a great show!! Anna Paquin is amazing....can't wait for the second series to be on sale.
