    About the Author

    The editor John Renwick is Emeritus Professor and Honorary Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, where he taught for 26 years. He has contributed critical editions to dozens of volumes of the OEuvres completes de Voltaire and has also published widely on Marmontel.
