About the Author

DR KASTURI SEN is at the Institute of Public Health, University of Cambridge. She was born in Calcutta India and moved to the UK in 1971. She has been involved in international public health research and teaching for 20 years. Her previous publications include Ageing - Debates on Demographic Transition and Social Policy (Zed Books 1994). The CONTRIBUTORS are health professionals and scholars based around the world.
