David M. Fahey, PhD, is professor emeritus of history at Miami University, Oxford, OH. He is coeditor of ABC-CLIO's Alcohol and Temperance in Modern History: An International Encyclopedia. Fahey holds a doctorate in history from the University of Notre Dame. Jon S. Miller, PhD, is associate professor of English at The University of Akron, Akron, OH. His published works include entries for ABC-CLIO's Alcohol and Temperance in Modern History: An International Encyclopedia. Miller holds a doctorate in English from The University of Iowa.
The scope of this encyclopedia is much broader than other
encyclopedias of substance abuse, including things such as energy
drinks and intriguingly, the people associated with drugs such as
Aldous Huxley. . . . This two-volume encyclopedia belongs in every
collection to inform history, sociology, and substance abuse
students and faculty.
