W. Eric Emerson is a member of the Hall's Board of
Trustees and the director of the South Carolina Department of
Archives and History in Columbia, USA. Emerson is the author of
Sons of Privilege: The Charleston Light Dragoons in the Civil War
and the coeditor of Faith, Valor and Devotion: The Civil War
Letters of William Porcher DuBose. He also has served as director
of the Charleston Library Society and the South Carolina Historical
Society.
Karen Stokes is an archivist at the South Carolina
Historical Society in Charleston, USA. She is the author of many
articles on South Carolina history and a contributor to The Civil
War in South Carolina: Selections from the South Carolina
Historical Magazine. Stokes is the coeditor with W. Eric Emerson of
Faith, Valor and Devotion: The Civil War Letters of William Porcher
DuBose.
