Teddy Jam (Matt Cohen 1942-1999) was the pseudonymous
author of many wonderful children's books, including Night Cars,
illustrated by Eric Beddows, This New Baby, illustrated by Virginia
Johnson, and How We Were, illustrated by Ange Zhang. He was also a
novelist and won the Governor General's Award for his last novel,
Elizabeth and After.
Joanne Fitzgerald (1956-2011) was a very talented
illustrator who had a rewarding career in children's books. She
illustrated many well-loved titles, including Little Rooster and
the Diamond Button by Celia Barker Lottridge (Mr. Christie's Book
Award), Doctor Kiss Says Yes by Teddy Jam (Governor General's
Award: Children's Illustration), Ten Small Tales by Celia Barker
Lottridge, and Emily's House by Niko Scharer. She most recently
wrote and illustrated This is Me and Where I Am.
