Proprietor of the Old Scotland in Pictures framing shop just off
Leith Walk in Edinburgh for over 30 years, Tom Wright is now
happily retired. The shop specialised in Victorian and Edwardian
photographs of Scotland, and utilising the vast collection of
negatives and postcards accumulated during this period, this book
is a complete change of direction from his previous books about
football.
On leaving school at 15, Tom’s first job was in Leith, where he
quickly acquired a great affinity with the Port and its unique
atmosphere. An affinity that continues to this very day.
He is married to wife Liz, has two daughters and four
grandchildren. Tom is also author of The Golden Years: Hibernian in
the Days of the Famous Five, Hibernian: From Joe Baker to
Turnbull’s Tornadoes and co-author of Crops: The Alex Cropley
Story.
