Reviews

Mission through Diaspora is a carefully researched and well-written work which deals with a subject of considerable contemporary significance - the Chinese diaspora movement and its involvement in mission. Jeanne Wu bases her work upon careful research, not simply anecdotal reports, and brings significant personal experience to the study, which is reflected in her observations and recommendations. is is an original and important contribution to our understanding of global Christianity and contemporary missions. Harold A. Netland, PhD Editor of Globalizing Theology: Belief and Practice in an Era of World Christianity Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Intercultural Studies, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois, USA There are more than 1,000 Chinese churches in the USA now and the number is still increasing! Research is needed to understand the rise and influence of this emergent group and this book is a significant contribution to this understanding. Combining quantitative and qualitative methods, Jeanne Wu articulates convincingly how Chinese churches in the USA do mission in a globalized world. With clear theoretical framework and missiological insights, it will be a critical support to the advance of diaspora missiology.
