Open a new box of tissues, lock the door and sit down to enjoy one of the best. Love Story is a heartbreakingly beautiful story of finding love and losing it - in the most permanent of ways. Ryan O'Neal and Ali McGraw are just wonderful in this movie that is one of the all time classic love stories.

this is the original love story movie, simply said. it is a simple, sweet tale of a boy and a girl who at first hated each other but then fell in love and had a few sweet years together before the girl dies (i am not giving much away, the first line of the movie is 'how do you describe a girl who died?')

This movie is a classic, I fell in love with it the first time I laid eyes on the screen, it seemed as the characters just melded together as they worked so well together, I was engulfed in the love and romance, No movie buff's collection is complete without this, it is just so beautiful, a movie in which words just can not describe, You will love, It was just so great watching I couldn't look away, I can hardly remember this movie as I watched it so long ago, But I still know I love it!

Touching story of young love, and an oscar winner. A young ambitious girl and a wealthy but lazy guy meet a college, quickly fall in love, and grow together. Against all odds, and against his parents wishes, they marry and struggle to make their way without help or support, but it is when they finally realise their dream that tragedy tears it apart.

A classic movie and the romance movie that probably sets the benchmark for all modern romance movies.
Starring a perfectly cast Ryan O'Neal and the then newcomer Ali McGraw as the star crossed lovers. O'Neal and McGraw play young lovers from different sides of the track- O'Neal estranged from his privileged upbringing and McGraw, a Jewish girl with a poor but loving parent. The two marry despite strong opposition from O'Neal's father. The ensuing relationship and life of the young couple is beautifully screened with some truly classic and moving moments as the couple find happiness in their daily struggle only to discover that McGraw has contracted cancer.
The end chapters of this movie are particularly moving and remain some of the most poignant ever filmed on screen.
A beautiful movie even to this day.
