the Psychic Wars is a work of fiction in the science fiction,
galactic adventure, and interpersonal drama sub-genres, and was
penned by author Wayne Gerard Trotman. Written for adult audiences
due to the presence of graphic violence and its complex conceptual
themes, this highly engaging work mixes together many popular
elements of the sci-fi genre to make something new and exciting.
Our protagonist Roman has no idea that his heritage stretches
beyond the stars until a party of apparent muggers arrives with the
intention of ending his life. And so Roman is ripped from his Earth
reality and unlocks his own astral powers, flung out into the
Cosmic Sea where war, intrigue, and danger await him.
Author Wayne Gerard Trotman has crafted an excellent and highly
entertaining work of science fiction which offers everything a
reader could possibly need in an epic adventure. I really liked the
character development of Roman, who is quite realistically shocked
by the turnaround in his life, and his motivations for his actions
at different points in the plot make good sense and develop with
him as he learns more about his new role. The worldbuilding was
also really excellent, building new societies, conflicts, and
powers for us to learn about as we explore the new alien side to
Roman's life. I found the action scenes very dynamic and suitable
for the conflicts going on. Overall, I would certainly recommend
Veterans of the Psychic Wars for science fiction fans seeking
suspense, thrills, and real adventure.
