Reviews

?Editor Ameringer has done scholars and researchers generally a fine service to bring out this massive one-volume reference volume, which is a sequel to Robert J. Alexander's two-volume edition, Political Parties of the Americas. . . . Especially useful for researchers, these commentaries add to the political information in the preceeding historical narratives, and readers can refer back to the original Alexander volumes to obtain more detailed information on the historical parties. The consistent format of the country chapters enhances the utlity of this authoritative reference work. Highly recommended for all reference collections.?-Library Journal

?The book employs extensive cross-references in both the index and text, leading readers from party name acronym or foreign language name to full English name. A useful addition to most academic libraries whether or not the base set is owned.?-Choice
