Reviews

.,."[C]overs a wide range of Asian Americans, not just celebrities and familiar faces...[T]he text is accurate and easy to understand, but avoids talking down to the reader. This dictionary would be a logical addition to any high school library that needs multicultural material."-The Book Report

?...[C]overs a wide range of Asian Americans, not just celebrities and familiar faces...[T]he text is accurate and easy to understand, but avoids talking down to the reader. This dictionary would be a logical addition to any high school library that needs multicultural material.?-The Book Report

?[T]he Asian American population was the fastest growing minority from 1980 to 1990, increasing by almost 100 percent. Despite this fact, there are still relatively few reference works on this group. Here an excellent group of contributors document the lives of 166 distinguished Asian Americans, from scientists and Nobel prize winners like physicist Tsung Dao Lee to martial arts expert Bruce Lee and figure skater Michelle Kwan. Just the thing for most school, public, and college reference collections.?-Library Journal

?A good purchase for school libraries or larger public libraries.?-American Reference Books Annual

?Entries, written by experts in the specific ethnic group, reflect the diversity of Asian Americans. The articles are well documented and each includes a brief bibliography....Recommended for academic and public libraries.?-Choice

?For high-school and public libraries where there is a demand for materials.?-Booklist/Reference Books Bulletin

?This resource will be useful for teens who must complete assignments on Asian Americans and do not know where to begin.?-VOYA

?This volume would be a good first source for teens assigned to report on famous people of various American cultures and it will give them enough information to be able to search intelligently elsewhere.?-Reference for Students -- GaleGroup.com Reviews
