About the Author

A twenty-year veteran of the television industry, Bill O’Reilly has won two Emmy awards for excellence in reporting. He served as national correspondent for ABC News and as anchor of the nationally syndicated Inside Edition. A graduate of Marist College, he holds two master’s degrees, one in public administration from Harvard and another in broadcast journalism from Boston University. He lives on Long Island with his wife and their daughter.

Two-time Emmy winner O'Reilly has opinions on most topics. In case someone missed hearing them on his cable Fox News Channel program, The O'Reilly Factor, he has conveniently compiled them in book form. Using a very personal tone, O'Reilly discusses topics that range from dating to politics, with a special emphasis on the ridiculous. His columns clue readers in on the challenges of being working class, how to conduct relationships, and the overall state of American society. He then embellishes each chapter with asides set off with bold phrases such as "Ridiculous Notes," "Bulletin," "Viewer Time-Out," or "Talking Point." Readers familiar with the television show may enjoy learning more about O'Reilly and will find the book entertaining, but serious readers will be annoyed by O'Reilly's choppy writing style and clearly pompous tone. It appears that this book will be heavily promoted, so public libraries where celebrity authors circulate well should consider purchasing it.
