Studium der Germanistik und Romanistik in Kiel und Freiburg im Breisgau; Forschungsaufenthalte in Frankreich, Belgien und Spanien; seit 1979 Gründungs- und Vorstandsmitglied der Société des Amis d'Alfred Jarry (Paris); 1983 Aufnahme in das Collège de 'Pataphysique; Promotion 1986; Buchveröffentlichung Individuation und Okkultismus im Romanwerk Alfred Jarrys (München 1988); danach diverse Vorträge, Aufsatz-Publikationen und Katalogbeiträge zur modernen Kunst in Frankreich und Deutschland; Kurator der Ausstellung Jarry und die Kunst - Jarry in der Kunst (Universitätsbibliothek Mannheim 2001); Leiter des Archivs für Jarry-Forschung (Freiburg im Breisgau).
