[This] is a valuable collection, with most of the biographies proving entertaining as well as educational. A major contribution to the history of mathematics and of women."-Library Journal

?The volume is a rich sourcebook for researchers and provides an excellent basis for courses in women's studies. Grinstein and Campbell have made a timely, valuable contribution to the field. Women now can be encouraged by the accomplishments of these successful role models.?-The Scientist
