Ruth K Westheimer is a psychosexual therapist
best known for pioneering the field of media psychology with her
radio and television shows. While the world has long turned to "Dr.
Ruth" for answers to sex-related questions, her doctorate from
Columbia Teacher's College is on the study of the family and ever
since becoming a grandmother herself, she has devoted part of her
recent activities to exploring this stage of human relations, first
with a book aimed at children, Dr. Ruth Talks AboutGrandparents,
and then with a documentary, No MissingLinks, which examines how
grandparents have transmitted traditional values from generation to
generation. In the field of sexuality, she continues her private
practice in New York City where she resides, and answers people's
questions with her syndicated column and on the Internet at
drruth.com and parenttime.com. She has two children and three
grandchildren.
Steven Kaplan is currently Associate Professor in
