Samantha Power is currently the US ambassador to the United Nations and was the former Special Assistant to President Barack Obama and Senior Director for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights at the National Security Council. She was the founding executive director of the Carr centre for Human Rights Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. A former Balkan war correspondent and a recipient of the National Magazine Award and the Pulitzer Prize, she lives in Washington, DC.
