About the Author

Michael L. Penn is Associate Professor of Psychology at Franklin & Marshall College and Affiliate Professor of Psychology at Landegg International University, Switzerland. Rahel Nardos was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and is now a medical student at Yale University.

The story is important because it deals with one of the world's greatest current injustices which produces one of the world's greatest set of health problems. The book tells its story powerfully because it focuses on the moral foundations of human interaction. We won't create gender equality and rid the world of gender-based violence without wrestling with the attendant moral issues. Penn sets out these issues clearly and comprehensively.
