Reviews

The reader will find International Education Systems and Contemporary Education Reforms an insightful study of the history, culture, and society through the vehicle of educational systems of emerging and diverse twenty-first century nations, and their quest for educational and school reform. Sociologists have long held that one of the primary institutions that reflect the values and beliefs of a society or a nation is its state (public) educational system. The text will provide the reader with the historical context and cross-cultural understanding necessary in order to appreciate the goals and mission of educational systems in varied and diverse nations today.
