Reviews

This is an unusual book, centring on photographs and travel notes by the late Leo Boer in the 1950s.[...]There is an additional feature on the PEF website of complementary Qumran photographs taken by Boer, at http://www.pef.org.uk/qumran/. There is a Preface by J. Zangenberg, a memoir of Boer by Wagmakers, a list of the photographs and several indexes. The editor has paid Boer a magnificent tribute, and the book deserves a wide readership. Review by Philip Davies in Palestine Exploration Quarterly, 147, Vol 2 (2015) -- Current Archaeology Current Archaeology "...the portraits of these sites, accompanied by individual bibliographies, will provide useful introductions to the history of work at these major sites" -- Robert Witcher Antiquity Wagemakers and his expert collaborators have done Leo Boer proud. The production values of this book are high, matching the quality of the text and photographs. I found it engrossing. -- Bulletin of the History of Archaeology Bulletin of the History of Archaeology
