Mark Evans is the Head of Contemporary Music Studies and Director of Creative Arts at Macquarie University, Sydney. He is also the Co-Editor of Perfect Beat: The Pacific Journal of Research into Contemporary Music and Popular Culture and is widely published in the areas of religious music and film music. His last volume, Markets and Margins: Australian Country Music was published by the Australian Institute of Country Music Press in 2005. A practicing musician, he has been actively involved in writing, producing and performing congregational music for over 15 years.
In this important book, Evans has raised the level of conversation
about worship music far above the too typical Us vs. Them.
Paul Jacobson, Reviews in Religion and TheologyTheologically

publication to consult. And as the number of books in the 'useful'
category are vanishingly small, it is worth knowing about this
one!
