The Flavian dynasty ruled Rome from AD 69 to 96. This text provides a translation of Suetonius' accounts of the three Flavian emperors - Vespasian, Titus and Domitian - taken from his "Lives", as well as a general introduction to Suetonius and a detailed commentary.
Robert D. Milns is a Professor of Classics in the Department of Classics and Ancient History, University of Queensland, Australia. He is the author of three monographs: Alexander the Great, The Spectre of Philip and (with B.W. Jones) The Use of Documentary Evidence in the Study of Roman Imperial History. Brian W. Jones is a Reader in the same Department. He is the author of two monographs on the Flavian emperors: The Emperor Titus and The Emperor Domitian and editions of Suetonius: Domitian (BCP, 1996) and Vespasian (BCP, 2000).
