'An important contribution to our understanding of the political and cultural changes that are sweeping through the neo-liberal global order. By bringing back one of the Frankfurt School's most salient insights into the psychology of mass society into the consciousness and culture of everyday life, this book is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand our turbulent and disruptive world.' --Prof. Michael J. Thompson author of The Domestication of Critical Theory (2016) and editor of the journal Logos and The Palgrave Handbook of Critical Theory (2017).
