Born into an aristocratic family in what is today Belarus, and after an extraordinary 5 years of survival against the odds, Michal Giedroyc built a successful post-war career as an international aircraft designer, industrial consultant, and finally settling in Oxford as an academic. He is married with 4 children who include entertainer Mel and BAFTA nominated director Coky.
